The Government Take-over

There are so many things wrong with how our government has handled the past year. It all comes back to the people in office are on a power trip and are getting more and more power hungry everyday. 1st-there should have NEVER been a bank bailout, guess what you let the first one go down and all of the others will fake it and figure out how to get themselves out of the hole that they have dug for their companies. 2nd-the CEO's of these companies many way too much money, but that is the problem of the people who own the stock, they have a vote and they should use it. No one is worth the money that these people get paid, and how do they justify getting a bonus and the have run the company in the ground and lost millions of dollars. 3rd-the government should not have bailed out GM or Chrysler and they still filed bankruptcy, how smart is that. Now the government wants control of the health care industry. They already dictate the drug companies with the FDA. What makes them think that they can be successful at running the health care reform and they cannot even run Medicare, medicare recipients already have to have supplemental insurance, they have bankrupt Medicaid and Social Security. The government is getting its greedy paws in too much private business. They keep saying health care reform, but is it the health care system or the health insurance industry. They will start with one and then slowly take over the other and then take over all aspects of out lives. Our government's responsibility should be to protect our borders and work in our best interest with the rest of the world, instead of selling us down the river and making everything that we have fought for and what our troops have fought for worthless. There is no respect for the American working people. There should be no free hand-outs. We can be a productive, thriving, self sufficient country if our government would do their job and protect us and support us. We need to support our allies, but we do not need to let anyone own us and dictate to us how we should live.
We need to stop this Government take-over of our private lives before it is too late. We need our country back because all of this new "change" isn't working out too well, it's only putting us deeper in debt and more vulnerable to other countries taking us over. We need to get back to our roots and live by the 10 commandments and the Bible.

My view on the economy

My view on the economy is that the media needs to keep out of it. To me is seems that the media likes to keep things in an uproar so they like to over-exaggerate things. I'm not saying that things are not bad, but sometimes the media creates chaos. I also feel that our stock market was so overinflated that it had to regulate itself. We could not go at the growth rate that we were without repercussions.

I also think that high executives over-inflated stock prices to make more money. I'm not really seeing a difference between what the executives at Enron did and the top execs of the companies that are failing today did. Personally I feel that these execs stole from their stock holders and their employees, and now they are stealing money from the American people by taking tax payer money and still paying outrageous bonuses to retain these "quality" people that have run the companies in the ground. I have never heard of rewarding a person for not doing there job. If I own a company and an employee doesn't do their job they lose their job, they sure as heck don't get a raise and bonus.

Also, I don't think that the government should have stepped in when they did. If they would have let the first company go down, no other company would have even hinted at the possibility of failing. This is a country of free enterprise, not government controlled companies. Right now the government has too much say so and control over private companies. Also I don't think that to keep throwing money into these companies especially without very strict rules as to what the CEO's can do with the money, which should have been not to pay ANY bonuses, as well as cutting top pay and expenses, not cutting lower jobs, was not a smart idea. The government, although may be well intended, but to me they are going about it backwards. They cannot try to keep the life boat floating with a small band-aid when in fact it needs a full body cast. The way to get our economy growing again is to have more people working, which means to create more jobs, in turn, that means that we as a country needs to actually make products. We cannot be a service country and not make products. If the government wants to give money and incentives to American companies it needs to be for companies that make products in THIS country, not one that imports its products. I think that what we have done to future generations is outrageous.

If you are reading this then you must want to read my thoughts and I hope that you understand why I feel the way that I do. Also help support America and buy American and buy local, if the government can't stimulate our economy then it is up to us as Americans to take our country back and grow it ourselves.
